How do you catch the next wave before it catches you? Why do you need to study market and consumer trends? Maybe because trends lead to a point of view, which leads to inspiration, which leads to innovation, which leads to profitable new goods, services and experiences. And what is your goal and responsibility when looking at trends?
There are four questions you need to ask yourself and your team when looking at trends: How could this affect our business? What might we need to change in the short term, long term? What may happen if we ignore this? What are other possible implications?
